One GO-BGC and 5 SOCCOM floats were deployed from the R/V Revelle on the RR2309 Transit from Cape Town, South Africa to Valparaiso, Chile.

All 6 floats deployed on the RR2309 Transit were adopted by schools in Arizona, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Vietnam. Check out all adopted floats on the Adopt-a-float data table, photos of floats can be found on our Flickr page.
Even though floats will spend 5 years in the ocean and under incredible pressure, they must be deployed carefully to not damage the instruments.
