Six floats were deployed from the R/V Bluefin on the TAO Mooring Expedition in the central tropical Pacific Ocean. All six floats will be taking measurements to help detect early signs of El Niño and Southern Oscillation events. Taking advantage of ships of opportunity like the Bluefin helped to get these floats deployed in an area lacking bgc floats.
