Dogie Diver gets wet in the North Atlantic

At 1305 UTC (coordinated Universal Time) on May 3rd, 2021, the tenth float of the newly NSF funded GO-BGC Array program was launched over the side after CTD Station #48. Huge thanks to the support of the US-GOSHIP program and the researchers onboard the A22 Expedition.

Dogie Diver (WMO #5906346) was named by Newcastle High School in Newcastle, WY. The reasoning for the name:

Our school mascot is the Dogie (long O sound, we are definitely not the doggies).

Elizabeth Ricci was the shipboard technician in charge of this launch and Dogie Diver was illustrated by Caitlyn Webster!
