In 2023, the R/V Revelle conducted a basin-wide expedition in the Indian Ocean made up of smaller expeditions including the DMBE (in green on map); Mauritius to India transit (in orange); ASTRAL/EKAMSAT (not displayed on the map); India to Australia transit (in blue); and the IO5 Expedition (in red). During the ASTRAL/EKAMSAT portion of the Indian Ocean expedition, one float was deployed in the Arabian Sea. This float experienced the Cyclone Biparjoy shortly after deployment which provided oceanographic insight to this event.
