GO-SHIP P02: Goodbye from Leg 1

A final goodbye as we pull into port in Honolulu

11 Jun 2022

And now for a final goodbye from those of us on Leg 1 as we pull into port in Honolulu. What can I say other than it’s been a pleasure! We are all excited to see land, but we are also sad to say goodbye to each other. Some of us have plans in Hawaii including exploring Oahu and island hopping! Some fly home and some head out to attend weddings and other plans with family. Some already have their next science cruise planned and others aren’t sure what life has in store for them.

And what about me you may ask? Well, along with 6 other science party members, I will actually be staying on board for Leg 2 of GO-SHIP P02! I switch from working on the CFC Team to joining our carbon analyzing friends on alkalinity (which I won’t go into detail about here). I will also no longer be your blog host, but maybe you’ll still catch glimpses of me if you start following our Leg 2 blog…

With that, I wish you farewell and calm seas!

Signing off – Sidney
